Renegade Theatre NYC

Renegade Theatre NYC was founded by Vincent Pastore and Maureen Van Zandt , who met on the set of HBO’s The Sopranos twenty years ago. The company includes a talented and versatile group of actors who have worked prolifically in theatre , film and television. Renegade has mounted productions of plays including A Streetcar Named Desire, Lovers and Other Strangers and Golden Boy, to name a few, as well as many staged readings of classic and contemporary plays and several video projects.

Vincent Pastore

Vincent Pastore is well known for his role on The Sopranos as “Big Pussy”, but his work neither began or ended there. He has appeared on Broadway in Chicago and in Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway, has appeared in countless films such as Don Q, Spinning Gold, Goodfellas, and many others. His TV credits include The Sopranos, Law & Order, One Life to Live, and a myriad of others. Vincent is also the writer of Crazy Horse- a hit play based on the story of his life as a Rock and Roll club owner before he became an actor. He is a well loved faculty member at HB Studios in New York City.

 

Maureen Van Zandt

Maureen Van Zandt has worked in theatre, film, tv and dance as an actor , dancer , choreographer , director and producer. She appeared on Broadway in HAIR, Phantom of the Opera , and Gypsy , as well as countless off - Broadway productions and with several leading ballet companies. She co- produced the acclaimed Once Upon A Dream on Broadway in 2013. She is the recipient of the Count Basie Vanguard Award for achievement in the arts , as well as the NJ Queens of Art Award. Maureen played mob wife Gabriella Dante on The Sopranos for 6 seasons , and also appeared on Netflix’s Lilyhammer. She has taught ballet and acting for many years and is co- artistic director of Renegade Theatre NYC .
